Ruby Aspinall-Harpist


“Heart Melting Harp Music” - The Guardian

Professional Harpist Ruby performs as a Soloist, Orchestral musician,and also composes for the harp.

Ruby won a Leverhulme Scholarship to study with Charlotte Seale at The Purcell School of Music, and later trained at Trinity College of Music, London with Sioned Williams and Gabriella Dall’Olio for her degree.

Orchestras she has worked with include the ENO, ENB, BBC Concert Orchestra, BRB,& USO.

Abroad she has worked in Holland, Belgium with The Rednote Ensemble and Toured in Japan and Spain.

U.k venues that Ruby performs at include The Royal Albert Hall, The Coliseum, The Barbican, St Paul’s Cathedral, Buckingham Palace, Sadlers Wells, Snape Maltings Aldeburgh, The Palace Theatre Manchester.

Ruby is the Principle Harpist of The Chineke! Orchestra.

Ruby has given interviews for Scala Radio, talking about her passion for all things harp.

She has recorded at Abbey Road Studios, for BBC Radio 3 , BBC Radio 4, also been featured performing for  Netflix playing the Harp in Costume dramas, and Films such as Made Of Honour for Sony Entertainment.

Her award winning solo harp work “Night Dances” won the Young Composer of Wales Prize, and went on to be chosen as the set piece for The London Harp Competition. 

Ruby also enjoys her residency as a musician working for Breath Arts Health Research

who are affiliated to the NHS & work with Guy’s and St Thomas’ charity to promote well being through music in health care settings.
